The spirit of a man is in his blood, a strong spirit that burns deep and fashions his life and his future. Determination, hope and courage mark a strong spirit, one reflecting a life that never yields despite adversities thrown against it. Failure does happen to everyone, but those with strong spirits pick themselves up, brush off the dust, and fight on. Whether or not they ultimately succeed, they know they have tried, and attempted to win.

So too are great writers born. Those who fight adversity, perhaps in personal life, maybe career-wise, or even through the pains and trials of numerous rejections for that one perfect story. These people ultimately refine into the well known authors we love today or are destined to seek in the future.

The Elven Wolf is birthed with hope and desire for these people. A hope that a new generation of great authors take life within these pages and a desire to make it so. Powerful stories with strong characters and deep, sometimes multiple layered, plots are the goal of this e-zine. The Elven Wolf may never become the best speculative fiction e-zine on the web, but my determination is to make it a strong advocate for authors who need a voice to make the world hear that perfect story.
